Te Kauri Park Rat Monitoring
Sat 21st and Sun 22nd September
Te Kauri Park Lodge, SH 31

Chris Eams from the Waikato Uni is looking for volunteers to assist with rat monitoring in Te Kauri Park a small DOC reserve on the other side of Karioi, on the road to Kawhia. This is part of the voluntary work the Waikato Junior Naturalists Society (JUNATS) do to help look after the forest. You can help by setting out monitoring cards in tunnels the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of this Month. The cards will be put out on Saturday afternoon and collected on Sunday afternoon. Each card has a small ink pad that the animals walk through, when they exit the tunnel they leave their little footprints behind. Contact Chris biol2120@waikato.ac.nz for more info or if you wish to volunteer.
